Non-elderly disabled families to lease affordable housing. Only income eligible families whose head of household, spouse, or co-head is non-elderly (under62) and disable may receive a Non-Elderly Disable voucher. Who are transitioning out of an institutional setting (such as nursing homes), at serious risk of institutional, homeless, and or becoming homeless. The term “disability” and “person with disabilities” are used in two context-for civil rights protections and for program eligibility purposes. These vouchers have the same rules as Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. These regulations are found in 24 CFR Part 982. |
