|Non-elderly disabled families to lease affordable housing. Only income eligible families whose head of household, spouse, or co-head is non-elderly (under62) and disable may receive a Non-Elderly Disable voucher. Who are transitioning out of an institutional setting (such as nursing homes), at serious risk of institutional, homeless, and or becoming homeless.|
The term “disability” and “person with disabilities” are used in two context-for civil rights protections and for program eligibility purposes.
These vouchers have the same rules as Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. These regulations are found in 24 CFR Part 982.
